Native Regions Endemic species of Myanmar. Thamin, a subspecies of Eld's deer native to Myanmar, is primarily found in the country’s central Dry Zone—specifically within the Mandalay, Sagaing, Magway, and Bago regions—with key populations protected in the Shwesettaw and Chatthin Wildlife Sanctuaries.

Characteristics

Eld’s deer (Thamin) is a medium-sized deer with a reddish-brown coat, long legs, and males bearing distinctive long, curved antlers, which they shed and regrow annually.
